A Decade of Bluewing Midstream

This year, Bluewing Midstream celebrates a milestone we are incredibly proud of: our 10th anniversary. Over the past decade, we have grown, learned, and built something meaningful. None of it would have been possible without the support of our community, the trust of our customers, and the dedication of our incredible team.

What began in 2015 as a small idea has grown into a company that has redefined midstream operations, especially here in the Port of Brownsville. In the early days, we stored just 50,000 barrels a day. Today, we manage more than 2 million barrels. Along the way, we have faced challenges, celebrated successes, and strengthened our organization beyond what we could have imagined. Each year has brought new lessons, innovation, and growth. That combination of vision and persistence has allowed us to accomplish what few others can.

Danny Malone, our Senior Vice President of Engineering and Construction, sums up what drives us best:

“We want to be the safest, most efficient, and most automated terminal in the world. Our goal is to grow thoughtfully, operate smarter than anyone else, and lead efforts internationally in transporting fuels. We are here for the long term.”

That vision and commitment are what set Bluewing apart and why our customers continue to choose us.

Another big part of our success comes from technology. Will Reid, our Director of IT, explains:

“We have worked closely with Dearman Systems to develop the best terminal automation solutions in the market, maximizing our assets’ throughput and unlocking key inventory and order data for time-sensitive business decisions every day. The logistical solutions we have implemented give our customers a unique edge that does not exist anywhere else. Our pre-dispatched order nomination process is seamless and allows position holders full visibility from check-in to BOL creation.”

This technology is ahead of its time, and as we continue partnering with Dearman, we are excited to see what comes next.

While growth and technology are essential, the true foundation of Bluewing has always been people and partnerships. From just a handful of employees in the early days, we have grown to more than 20 in the Houston office, with even more at our terminal. Our team, partners, and customers have all grown alongside us, helping build not just a company but a connected and forward looking organization.

Ten years is a remarkable milestone, but it is only the beginning. The foundation we have built gives us confidence for what lies ahead. Bluewing will continue to grow, guided by the same purpose and passion that brought us here. To everyone who has been part of this journey, thank you.
